Great food, like their beef, hot dogs, and the grilled chicken, it is so tasty. Great fries. Awesome owners and new food items added.

I had a regular cheeseburger and it tasted very good and it didn't have a lot of grease like some cheeseburgers at other restaurants.

*Edited* Came back to Duke’s roughly a year after it opened to give it another shot. The food seems completely different, in a much better way! The beef has flavor and the fries were hot, with a crunchy outside and a soft inside. My kids and I have returned an additional 4 times in the last two weeks. *Original Post* Duke’s was one of my favorite jobs in high school and I remember it being a lot better. Fries felt like they were old and warm, absolutely no salt on them. Ordered a beef w/ moz dry and got it wet. Maybe it’s cause the place just opened up a few days ago and they don’t have everything down yet.. Not sure but I’ll give it another try a few weeks from now.

Giving food five stars and the place 3 stars. Being inside a gas station leaves something to be desired but the food was great. Italian beef sandwich was very good and loaded! Had heard they were voted best beef sandwich and didn't disappoint. Shakes are good but not as thick as I like.

Service is always a pleasure. The employees are so nice and willing to help. The food is always good. Never disappoints. The fries are my favorite always salted to perfection. The beef is really good I recommend getting the hot peppers and mozzarella cheese with a side of the au jus. The tenders are always a hit with the kids. Food is always cooked to order so except a small wait.

Been going to Duke's for over 20 years, beginning when they were in Burbank, IL. Beef sandwiches and fries are the best! Beef & Sausage Combo is a winner as well. Great Chicago dog. Beef is sliced soooo thin and tender. The juice is top notch! The sack of fries are also some of the best. We've used them for catering for years as well. When we visit transplanted family in other states, they always ask us to bring Duke's Beef and bread. No matter how busy, orders are taken, and food is delivered quickly. In Burbank, they were a stand alone walk up building. Several stools inside, outside picnic tables. In Mokena they have space inside the gas station, with enough indoor seating.

Giving this place 5 stars on everything. A little back-story if you will indulge me for a moment: I live in California but grew up in Northern Illinois. We have been gone from here nearly 40 years. But every time we return for visits we make a point to snag as much pizza and Italian Beefs we can. Back in CA I really crave some of the Chicago delicacies that are hard to come by there. Well Duke’s Drive-in was a place I always wanted to try but never got around to over the years. Then I heard the restaurant lost its lease and had to close. (The former site on S. Harlem and 81st PL is now a frikkin’ PANERA, LOL!) Imagine my relief when I read that Duke’s was back with a location down in Mokena near the 80. I had to run my SIL to Midway Airport a couple days ago and decided to divert down LaGrange Rd to try the place. Was it good? OH YEAH! I had the combo - Italian Beef and Italian Sausage together - with hot giardiniera. The roll was genuine Italian bread, toothsome and substantial in the way they only get right in Chicago. The beef? Best I ever tasted. It was everything I want in a real beef sammich. The sausage was great, too. Gravy out of this world. My only beef (LOL) was their giardiniera. I ordered hot but they either make their own or buy some kind of weak sauce, jalapeno-loaded stuff with near-zero pickling and almost no bite. I want some vinegar and some heat in giardiniera; if you are a fan of Marconi hot giardiniera then you know what I am talking about: lots of Serrano peppers, carrots, celery, and most-definitely pickled. But in this instance the ding for the topping was and is completely overlookable when contrasted with the most delicious beef I ever had. My recommendation would be to just pick up a jar of Marconi and use that. Just writing this is making me hungry. We are about to head home and right now I am thinking about running back out to Mokena to get one more.

This restaurant is located inside a gas station. There are other restaurants located inside. There is a sitting area in the center of the building where you can sit down and eat your meal. This place is very clean. The washrooms are very clean. You have your choice of food; Italian beef, bagel sandwiches, and even Beggars Pizza. The food at Duke's is very fresh, tasty, and delicious! If you are ever in this area, be sure to stop by.
